St. Clare's Anglican Church is the new ministry site for The Anglican Parish of North Dundas.
At St. Clare's we strive to live out the Great Commandment of loving God and loving neighbour. We try to do this is several ways. First, we strive to provide a diverse and meaningful liturgical ministry. While we are a traditional parish, primarily using the Book of Alternative Services, we are not afraid to stretch ourselves and try different things. We also incorporate the Book of Common Prayer, the Iona Community Scottish Eucharist, contemporary evangelical communion services. On occasion we have been known to experiment with coffee shop style worship that is structured around conversation with one another.
Aside from worship, St. Clare's provides a number of pastoral and social ministries for the community. We have an active pastoral care team that enjoys visiting community members. A prayer shawl ministry who provides beautiful quilting work for any occasion. We also put on community suppers, fundraisers, and have a catering ministry that is very active within our local community.
In terms of supporting ministries outside of our own offerings, the people of St. Clare's are involved with the local food bank and financially support the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund.
On top of this, St. Clare's runs progressive Christian Education programs. From discussions that develop from a dramatic acting of the Gospels, to engaging current topics such as politics, social justice, and ethics through the lens of faith, our diverse group is willing to ask questions and seek answers together.
